Basketball Recap: Chelsea Academy Takes a Loss

Chelsea Academy suffered their biggest defeat since January 23, 2024 on Saturday. They took a blow against the Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles, falling 68-37. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Ryan Candland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Covenant Christian Academy, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Candland has scored at least a third of Covenant Christian Academy's points. Brandon Alibaruho was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Chelsea Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Covenant Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Chelsea Academy will square off against Blue Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-62 victory against Redeemer Classical on the 11th.
