Soddy Daisy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Signal Mountain, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans blew past the Eagles 16-4 on Monday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 17-0 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jake Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Cooper Poe and Brayden Maynor did most of the damage at the plate: Poe went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Maynor scored four runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Poe has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Ferguson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Soddy Daisy and bumps their season record up to 13-8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Signal Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Soddy Daisy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
