Softball Recap: Fort Payne Falls Short of Southside in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fort Payne can now relate to. They fell 7-2 to the Southside Panthers on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Fort Payne's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Southside, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-14.

Fort Payne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against Gadsden City on the 29th. Southside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
