Phillipsburg has no trouble against Oakley

Recap: Phillipsburg Panthers vs. Oakley Plainsmen

The Phillipsburg Panthers took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). Everything went their way against Oakley as Phillipsburg made off with a 67-47 win. For Phillipsburg, this counts as revenge for the 55-51 defeat Oakley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Phillipsburg can attribute much of their success to Caden Seems, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rad Rodriguez, who scored 11 points.

Oakley's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sheldon Temaat, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Manuel Mancia, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.

Phillipsburg's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Oakley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Phillipsburg will square off against Sylvan-Lucas at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakley, they will square off against Northern Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Northern Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
