Softball Recap: Honesdale Hornets vs. Riverside Vikings
Honesdale had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it seven. They came up short against the Riverside Vikings, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-6 two weeks ago.
As for Riverside, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Riverside's part, Kate Reynolds and Adi Odzana did most of the damage at the plate: Reynolds went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Odzana went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Odzana a new career-high. Clara Sandly was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
