Volleyball Recap: Ashton-Franklin Center Comes Up Short

Ashton-Franklin Center extended their losing streak to ten on Saturday, dropping them down to 4-18. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Durand Bulldogs. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Durand, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. Surprisingly, this marked their fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Durand can attribute much of their success to Maddy Moore, who had five digs and four aces. That's the most aces Moore has posted over her last seven matches. Elyse Balentyne also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Ashton-Franklin Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Newman Central Catholic on the 18th. As for Durand, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Eastland on the 18th.
