Soccer Game Preview: Juarez-Lincoln vs. Nixon

The Juarez-Lincoln Huskies will take on the Nixon Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Juarez-Lincoln sitting on three straight victories and Nixon on nine.

Last Friday, Juarez-Lincoln had just enough and edged Mission Veterans Memorial out 2-1.

Meanwhile, Nixon kept a clean sheet against Cigarroa on Friday. They blew past the Toros 6-0. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by four goals or more this season.

They hit Cigarroa with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Pedro Zapata (2), Amador Hinojosa (2), Chris Perez, and ?ngel Uribe.

Nixon pushed their record up to 13-0-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Juarez-Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-2.

Juarez-Lincoln took their win against Nixon when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Juarez-Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
