Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Comes Up Short

Nicholas County lost against Sissonville back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Grizzlies took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Nicholas County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Burns, who went 3-for-4 with one run. Burns is becoming a predictor of the Grizzlies' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't).

Nicholas County's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Sissonville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Nicholas County will welcome Greenbrier West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Sissonville, they will challenge Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
