It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Caldwell Parish had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Avoyelles Mustangs 17-6. Considering the Spartans have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Caldwell Parish, bringing their record up to 23-13. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Avoyelles, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-15.

Caldwell Parish will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
