Baseball Game Preview: Cosby Eagles vs. Fulton Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Cosby Eagles take on Fulton Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cosby has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Fulton will arrive with five straight victories.

Cosby lost 11-1 to North Greene on Tuesday.

Cosby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Brannon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Brannon a new career-high in hits. Aiden McGaha also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

While Fulton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Harriman on Wednesday. Considering the Falcons have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Fulton pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.8 runs. As for Cosby, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1.

Cosby suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Fulton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Cosby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
