Basketball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 35-35 at halftime, Tri-Valley was not quite Dakota Valley's equal in the second half on Friday. They were beaten by the Dakota Valley Panthers 88-56. The Mustangs have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Dakota Valley was led to victory by Logan Collette and Luke Bruns. Collette went 8 for 14 on his way to 25 points along with five assists and five boards, while Bruns went 7 of 14 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Bruns' 12th in a row with at least ten points. Drew Lukken was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Dakota Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Tri-Valley will take on Canton at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-Valley is facing Canton at the right time seeing as Canton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dakota Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-54 defeat against St. Thomas More on the 25th.
