Softball Preview: Arvada West Wildcats vs. Valor Christian Eagles

Arvada West has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will head out to square off against the Valor Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Arvada West earned a 9-5 victory over Bear Creek.

Meanwhile, Valor Christian never let their opponents score on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Lakewood.

The result came thanks to Olivia Schmidt's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in ten consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Kendall Ferguson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karis Flannery, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Valor Christian didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood only tossed three.
