The Elmwood Royals will take on the Arcadia Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Elmwood's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Arcadia has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Elmwood's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Lima Central Catholic. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Landon Snow made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, Colton Bradford was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zackery Gross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, Arcadia suffered their closest loss since May 3, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Riverdale by a score of 3-1.
Isaac Stoner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Arcadia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Elmwood, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Arcadia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Elmwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .485. It's a different story for Arcadia, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Elmwood's hitters?
Everything went Elmwood's way against Arcadia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Elmwood made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
