Brunswick has won six straight games at home, while Keystone has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Blue Devils will host the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Brunswick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
Brunswick's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Cleveland Heights 26-0. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Kaelyn Stolarski was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with six RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Flanigan, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Brunswick hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Keystone earned a 6-3 win over Columbia on Wednesday.
Brooklyn Modock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Owca, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Armitage, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Brunswick's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Keystone, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Brunswick has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Keystone struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
