Volleyball Game Preview: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots will challenge the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Academy of Our Lady of Peace will be strutting in after a victory while Scripps Ranch will be coming in after a defeat.

If Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they should've done a better job of containing Amanda Guzman. The Pilots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Patriots on Wednesday with plenty of help from Guzman, who had 31 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-102), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Bishop's.

While Scripps Ranch ultimately came up short, they really made Bishop's work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 25-21.

Scripps Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
