Football Recap: Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles vs. Marshall County Tigers

Shelbyville Central was the 35-28 winner over Marshall County when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles fell 47-35 to the Marshall County Tigers on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (34), the Golden Eagles still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Shelbyville Central still got an impressive performance from Robert Bailey, who rushed for 249 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Bailey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Bobo, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.

Shelbyville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Marshall County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Shelbyville Central will take on Coffee County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville Central is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Marshall County, they will square off against Station Camp at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games.
