            Basalt and Sterling squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but Basalt had to settle for second. They fell  44-36 to the Sterling Tigers. The  game marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring  matchup so far this season.

 Despite the loss, Basalt still got an impressive performance from   Elias Schendler, who  dropped  a double-double with 17 points and 13  rebounds. Schendler has been hot for a while, having  posted eight or more  boards the last 11 times he's  played.  Zealand Lane was another key player,  putting up four  points and six  rebounds.
Basalt has  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record  this season. Sterling is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record  this season.
 Basalt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sterling, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  58-49  loss against Colorado Academy on the 8th.
