Baseball Recap: Centennial Gets the Win

Centennial came out on top against Roosevelt on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Huskies walked away with a 6-2 win over the Mustangs. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Ian Calvillo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Centennial let Charles Rogers and Jaden Walk-Green run wild. Rogers went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Walk-Green went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Centennial's record is now 13-4. As for Roosevelt, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Centennial beat the Mustangs by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.
