Softball Game Preview: Lawndale Cardinals vs. Santa Monica Vikings

For the second straight game, Lawndale will face off against Santa Monica. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lawndale has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lawndale is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Santa Monica on Tuesday. They lost 18-1 to the Vikings.

Margarita Rosales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Santa Monica pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Lawndale, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
