Basketball Recap: Somerset Comes Up Short

Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Berea Pirates. The Briar Jumpers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Berea, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Somerset has already played their next matchup (against Williamsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Berea will challenge Madison Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison Central will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Berea surely won't give up without a fight.
