Football Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Desert Oasis

Desert Oasis extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Akemi Higa. The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Las Vegas Wildcats 42-14 thanks in part to Higa, who threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.2% of her passes, and also rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Akiko Higa, who picked up 157 receiving yards and three touchdowns. She was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards.

Desert Oasis' win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Las Vegas, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Oasis will square off against Mater Academy East Las Vegas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Oasis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 35.3 points per game this season. As for Las Vegas, they will challenge Rancho at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
