Recap: Akron Rams vs. Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs
The Akron Rams were the 54-44 winner over the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Akron fell to Haxtun 56-50. Akron has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Akron lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Poss. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Poss scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Mccaffrey, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Akron has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Haxtun, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Akron will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sedgwick County at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Haxtun will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Prairie at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hopefully Prairie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
