Softball Recap: Xavier Takes a Loss

Xavier and Valders squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Xavier had to settle for second. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Xavier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalia Stammer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

The defeat snapped Xavier's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-10 record. As for Valders, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Xavier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valders, they will take on Fall Creek on the 13th. The Crickets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
