Basketball Preview: Alden-Conger Knights vs. Martin County West Mavericks
Alden-Conger is 1-9 against the Mavericks since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Alden-Conger Knights' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Martin County West Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Alden-Conger will be strutting in after a victory while the Mavericks will be coming in after a defeat.
Alden-Conger scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Rochester STEM Academy 84-45 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Alden-Conger has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Martin County West took a serious blow against the Cyclones on Thursday, falling 84-38. Martin County West has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alden-Conger's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12. As for Martin County West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
Everything went Alden-Conger's way against the Mavericks in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the Knights made off with a 75-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alden-Conger since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
