Softball Recap: East Noble Sets Scoring Season-High Against New Haven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Noble). They put the hurt on the New Haven Bulldogs with a sharp 19-1 win on Thursday. Considering the Knights have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Alwine made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 15 matchups.

In other batting news, Shaye Ritchie was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Paige Griggs, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

East Noble was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Haven only posted a batting average of .250.

East Noble's record now sits at 14-6-1. As for New Haven, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Looking ahead, East Noble will square off against West Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Haven, they will face off against Bluffton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
