Baseball Recap: Piggott Comes Up Short

Piggott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 19-4 to the Walnut Ridge Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mohawks of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Piggott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Walnut Ridge, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

When Piggott and Walnut Ridge next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Piggott will try to stop Riverside's seven-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on March 31st. Meanwhile, Walnut Ridge will take on Central and their five-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
