Volleyball Recap: Winter Haven Comes Up Short

Winter Haven lost against Auburndale last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blue Devils came up short against the Bloodhounds, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburndale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sebastian Crespo-Jimenez, who had 21 digs and three assists. Crespo-Jimenez is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season.

Winter Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Auburndale, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Coming up, Winter Haven will head out to square off against Lake Region at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Auburndale, they will face off against Mulberry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bloodhounds are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
