Softball Game Preview: St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons vs. St. Scholastica Doves

The St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the St. Scholastica Doves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Thomas Aquinas' hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Tuesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Thomas Aquinas came up short against Northlake Christian on Wednesday, falling 20-2.

St. Thomas Aquinas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Inzinna, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Inzinna hit this season. Ava Berthelot was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, St. Scholastica was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell 7-2 to Lakeshore.

St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for St. Scholastica, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Thomas Aquinas has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like St. Scholastica struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

St. Thomas Aquinas might still be hurting after the 29-18 defeat they got from St. Scholastica when the teams last played back in February. Can St. Thomas Aquinas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
