Basketball Recap: Meade Takes a Loss

Meade easily dispatched Minneola last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Meade Buffaloes fell just short of the Hodgeman County Longhorns by a score of 38-35 on Monday. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hodgeman County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlynn Beil, who posted seven points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Lonnberg, who scored seven points.

Meade's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Hodgeman County, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Meade is taking a road trip to take on Hodgeman County at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Hodgeman County, they will take on Bucklin in a tournament on Thursday. Bucklin will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hodgeman County surely won't give up without a fight.
