Baseball Recap: St. Charles East Takes a Loss

St. Charles East had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 12-15 to make it four. They fell just short of the Geneva Vikings by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 on Tuesday.

St. Charles East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Evans, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Geneva, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On Geneva's side, Mason Bruesch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Bruesch was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Geneva beat St. Charles East by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.
