Basketball Recap: Tongue River Eagles vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies
The Tongue River Eagles waltzed into their game on Friday with 14 straight wins but they left with 15. They walked away with a 46-37 win over Rocky Mountain. That's another feather in the cap for Tongue River, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Rocky Mountain lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lauren Bassett, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was MacKelle Moss, who scored six points along with three steals and three blocks.
Tongue River pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tongue River and the Bulldogs will face off at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Sundance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Saturday. As for Rocky Mountain, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Wyoming Indian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
