Soccer Recap: Pickens Takes a Loss

If Pickens was riding high fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Union County last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pickens Dragons came up short against the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans on Thursday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Spartans are ranked seventh).

Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickens will host Lumpkin County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will take on Lovett at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
