Basketball Recap: Delaney Mcghay Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

The third road match was the charm for Eldon, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 45-38 win over the Fulton Hornets on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eldon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Delaney Mcghay out in front who posted 11 points and three steals. Mcghay has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaydin Davis, who scored 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Eldon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Eldon's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Fulton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eldon will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Versailles at 4:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Fulton, they will host South Callaway at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
