Softball Recap: Delcambre Find Success

While Delcambre's win against Vermilion Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Delcambre Panthers skirted past the Vermilion Catholic Eagles 6-4. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles on Tuesday, too.

Addilynn Frederick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Delcambre saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trystin Touchet, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Kylee Duplantis, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Delcambre now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Vermilion Catholic, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Delcambre will head out to challenge West St. Mary at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vermilion Catholic, they will host Catholic - N.I. at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic - N.I. has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.25 runs per game on average), something Vermilion Catholic will no doubt try to take advantage of.
