Softball Recap: East Nicolaus Spartans vs. Quincy Trojans
With a playoff win on the line, East Nicolaus rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Quincy Trojans get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Spartans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.
Stevie Knight made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Lela DeCecco was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Makinze Massey was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
East Nicolaus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy only posted an OBP of .062.
East Nicolaus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Quincy, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-5.
