Basketball Game Preview: Wall Eagles vs. Little Wound Mustangs

The Wall Eagles and the Little Wound Mustangs will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Wall is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Pine Ridge, who was ranked fifth at the time (Wall was ranked fourth). The Eagles fell just short of the Thorpes by a score of 70-67 last Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Wall got top-tier performance from Teelan Kjerstad, who went 13-for-21 to rack up 33 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Emmet Dinger was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Little Wound, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They wrapped up 2025 with a 60-43 victory over Hot Springs.

Wall's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Little Wound, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Wall beat Little Wound 78-70 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
