Football Game Preview: Waynesboro Little Giants vs. Staunton Storm

The Waynesboro Little Giants will head out on the road to take on the Staunton Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesboro has given up an average of 32 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Waynesboro lost 36-14 to Alleghany on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Little Giants in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Staunton's game last Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to Alleghany. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Cougars are ranked 97th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Staunton fell to 3-1. As for Waynesboro, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Waynesboro was taken down by Staunton 35-6 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Little Giants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
