Football Recap: Farmington Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Bountiful

Farmington faced Bountiful in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Phoenix took a 14-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the RedHawks. Having soared to a lofty 37 points in the game before, the Phoenix couldn't push the score so high this time.

Farmington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tanner Nielsen and Ty Runyan. Another thorn in Bountiful's side was Maxwell Racker, who picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.

Farmington's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bountiful, they pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmington will challenge Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bountiful, they will square off against Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
