Softball Recap: Lee Williams Takes a Loss

Lee Williams started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Flagstaff. They lost 16-6 to the Eagles on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Volunteers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Sami Marshall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katrina Murphy, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Lee Williams' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Flagstaff, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5-1 record this season.

While Lee Williams had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
