Basketball Recap: Bayside Comes Up Short

If Bayside was riding high fresh off their 64-42 takedown of Salem last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bayside Marlins were dealt a 66-33 defeat at the hands of the Landstown Eagles on Tuesday. The game marked the Marlins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Alonzo Martinez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten assists for Landstown. Zaevion Cleveland was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Bayside's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Landstown, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bayside has already played their next matchup, a 59-55 win against Great Bridge on the 18th. As for Landstown, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kempsville at 5:30 p.m.
