Basketball Recap: Jefferson Find Success

On Saturday, the Jefferson Cougars were able to grind out a solid win over the Keyser Golden Tornado, taking the game 51-38.

Keyser's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kameron Samples, who posted nine points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Samples a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Ian Spiker, who put up eight points.

Jefferson now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Keyser, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-43 victory against Independence on the 17th. As for Keyser, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-47 win against Southern on the 17th.
