Baseball Recap: Flatirons Academy Triumphs

After losing to Akron the last time they met, Flatirons Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Flatirons Academy walked away with a 6-1 victory over Akron on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bison.

Parker Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Kelley, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Kelley a new career-high in RBI (two).

Flatirons Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Flatirons Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Peetz at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Akron, they will take on Simla in a tournament on Saturday.
