Basketball Recap: Glen Iris Baptist Extends Winning Streak to Six

Glen Iris Baptist entered their tilt with Tabernacle Christian on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They strolled past the Tabernacle Christian Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 48-30.

Glen Iris Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leah Griffin, who posted 22 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebekah Everett, who had 12 points and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Tabernacle Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Liz Southerland put up 17 points. That was a full 56.7% of Tabernacle Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Glen Iris Baptist's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Tabernacle Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Glen Iris Baptist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 34-24 victory against Union Grove Christian on the 6th. As for Tabernacle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-36 loss against Rochester Hills Christian on the 6th.
