Baseball Recap: Boulder Creek Takes a Loss

Boulder Creek extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 12-12. They lost 9-3 to the Desert Vista Thunder. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunder from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Desert Vista, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Desert Vista's part, Owen Wheeler tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Wheeler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Seth Skinner was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Hutton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Coming up, Boulder Creek is taking a road trip to square off against Pinnacle at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Desert Vista, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Corona del Sol at 3:45 p.m.
