Recap: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Othello Huskies
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Enumclaw Hornets had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by Othello at home to the tune of 49-12. The victory was just business as usual for Enumclaw, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Enumclaw's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gunnar Trachte led the charge by throwing for 180 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Trachte is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Neu, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Enumclaw's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.36 points. As for Othello, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Enumclaw will face off against Highline at TBD on Saturday. Highline is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Othello does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
