Softball Game Preview: Real Life Christian Academy Raptors vs. Sarasota Christian Blazers

The Real Life Christian Academy Raptors will take on the Sarasota Christian Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Real Life Christian Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Sarasota Christian likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Real Life Christian Academy made easy work of Wildwood and carried off a 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Daniella Delgadillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Rylee Lyon was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times she's played. Emma Lowe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1.

Real Life Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sarasota Christian's offense. They fell 4-0 to Saint Stephen's Episcopal on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Blazers were not able to get on the board.

Real Life Christian Academy pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs. As for Sarasota Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
