Baseball Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort suffered their closest loss since March 18th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats by a score of 9-7. If the Redbirds were looking for revenge after losing 10-4 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Frankfort's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Anna-Jonesboro, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Frankfort and Anna-Jonesboro could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Redbirds will challenge Harrisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (504 vs. 224). Meanwhile, Anna-Jonesboro (ranked 391st) will meet Nashville (ranked 31st) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
