Recap: Andrew Jackson Volunteers vs. North Central Knights
The Andrew Jackson Volunteers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over North Central on the road. The result was nothing new for Andrew Jackson, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Jonathan Clarkson and Casey Shropshire, North Central certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Clarkson rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while Shropshire gained 105 total yards and a touchdown.
Andrew Jackson's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely North Central, Cheraw, and Lakewood. As for North Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrew Jackson will take on Buford at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Buford is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for North Central, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Central is ranked 177th, while North Central is ranked 175th).
