Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Nettleton's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Thursday. Nettleton came out on top against Ripley by a score of 5-2. That's more bragging rights for Nettleton, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chloe Humble was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zion Seals, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Nettleton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. Ripley's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Nettleton will head out on the road to face off against West Union at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Ripley, they will face off against East Union at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. East Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
