Soccer Game Preview: Dominion vs. Woodgrove

The Dominion Titans will be taking part in a tournament against the Woodgrove Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Dominion is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Heritage just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pride by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dominion came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Heritage are ranked 201st).

Dominion's goal came courtesy of Mia McFarland, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Woodgrove and Loudoun County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Woodgrove had to settle for second. They came up short against the Captains, falling 5-0.

Dominion's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4-2. As for Woodgrove, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7-1.

Dominion beat Woodgrove by a goal in their previous meeting back in April, winning 3-2. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
